Teresa Giudice may be paying her debt to society by serving out her 15-month prison sentence, but she still has to worry about settling up with the federal government in a much more literal way.

Radar Online is reporting that the Giudices still owe about $400,000 in restitution, and since Teresa and Joe have no income (She’s locked up; he’s cripplingly lazy.), the feds are laying claim to some of the family’s most prized possessions.

In a desperate bid to avoid further criminal charges the Giudices have agreed to let the government seize their Maserati, several wildly expensive pieces of furniture, and a huge chunk of everything that Teresa makes between her release and the time when the debt is paid off.

Bravo hasn’t even established if Teresa will return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but if she does, she’ll be forced to fork over 25% of her earnings.

Last week, Teresa tweeted from prison (or, more accurately, her daughter Gia tweeted for her), and based on the response, it seems the embattled Jersey girl is as popular with fans as ever.

Even in the big house, Teresa has managed to cash in on her popularity. The first photo of Teresa in prison sold to a tabloid for six figures.

So there’s little doubt that Queen T still has some serious earning power. The only questions are: How long will it take her to settle her massive debt, and will she have a place to live when she gets out of the joint?
