Ever since Amanda Bynes was released from psychiatric care last week, there’s been widespread speculation about her mental state and the future of her conservatorship.

Bynes took to Twitter late last night to clarify the terms of her release and speak publicly for the first time about her efforts to end her parents’ control over her freedom and finances.

“I was diagnosed bipolar and manic-depressive,” Bynes tweeted shortly after midnight. “I’m on medication and I’m seeing my psychologist and psychiatrist weekly so I’m fine.”

Though Bynes posted several more optimistic tweets on the topic of her mental health, she seems to have a far less sunny outlook on the topic of her parents:

“I need to get an apartment and my parents won’t give me access to any of my funds,” Bynes tweeted.

“I’m not living with my parents. I’m not legally obligated to…My lawyer said if I comply with the courts and take my meds and see my psychiatrist and psychologist weekly, then I will get unconserved.”

Bynes has been roaming around LA since being released from Las Encinas on Friday. Sources say she’s been spotted behaving strangely, but doesn’t seem to be a threat to herself or anyone else.

Thus far, Bynes bids to end her parents’ conservatorship have been unsuccessful, but her early release from Las Encinas suggests that the courts might be open to granting the troubled star full legal control of her life.
