Since Rivers is 81 years old and has undergone numerous surgeries in the past, many feared that the legendary comic would not pull through.

Moments ago, however, E! News' Ken Baker tweeted that Rivers has been upgraded to stable condition and is currently recovering.

There's still no word on what caused Rivers to go into respiratory arrest during the procedure.

Despite her age, fans were shocked to hear that Joan had suffered the complication, as the Fashion Police host is as active as ever these days, after more than 5 decades in show business.

Rivers' take-downs of stars like Selena Gomez and Rihanna continue to make news, and she's recently been relentless in her feud with Kim Kardashian.

Joan's been generating more controversy than ever lately, but regardless of your personal feelings about Ms. Rivers, certainly everyone can agree that it's wonderful to hear she'll be continuing to entertain and enrage in equal measure for the foreseeable future.

Joan's daughter and frequent collaborator Melissa Rivers has reportedly rushed to New York to be by her mother's side.

We wish Joan a speedy recovery and can't wait to hear her bash the surgeon responsible for her hospitalization.
