On The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6 Episode 2, the drama we saw in the premiere was largely absent in what felt like a filler installment.
Just not a lot going on in the Garden State. Fortunately, we still have Teresa Giudice pissed at Andy Cohen and lots more gossip in the present day.
It's Christmas time and that means decorating your McMansions and just going through the motions, whether you're a cast member or a viewer.
The only difference? The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast salaries are probably a lot higher than yours for doing less work. This is upsetting.
Anyway, at the Giudice residence, sassy 7-year-old Milania refuses to help Teresa and Joe put up the tree. "I am a girl, I'm not a boy," she insists.
Girl does raise a valid point right there.
Meanwhile, the Gorgas put up a fake tree in their rental home, but alas, it is too tall for the top piece. This is the biggest drama of the episode.
We kid, but not by much. Teresa Aprea, meanwhile, is decorating her tree while her dad goes out for a smoke, and Dina doesn't even put one up.
Fortunately, Amber Marchese is in the holiday spirit. "Everything needs to be perfect!" she says while making gingerbread houses with her family.
"It's just the type of mom I am," she adds, and that includes fire drills, because Christmas can be a dangerous time and safety is always paramount.
The Gorgas bond at the site of their new home. "I'm gonna go a little bit more L.A. chic,” Melissa says of the decor, adding in the night's top quote:
“I don't know what that means, but that's what I like to say."
Dina and Teresa, who just happen to be in the area, stop by to pay homage to the amazing dirt and grass that will be the Gorgas' epic McMansion.
They talk about Teresa's legal problems. Not about Teresa Giudice's salary of more than 2-3 times what they will be making this season. They fist-pump.
"I always think about it," Teresa says (“It” being prison).
Joe refers to it as “wherever” or “vacation” ... but Teresa doesn’t want to accept the idea of a vacation with no Joe. “We need you around,” she says. “Always.”
These two make mortgage fraud look sympathetic.
The families bond with their cousins in a gag-gift exchange, where Teresa Giudice receives a dictionary in the most passive aggressive move of all time.
On Christmas morning, Nicole’s boyfriend Bobby comes to her parents' house to present Nicole with a wine bottle holder shaped like a high-heel shoe.
Nicole’s mom Santa (her real name) sums it up best when she replies:
"I think you went to Colts Neck pharmacy for this. I've seen it there.”
