Mekhi Phifer has filed for bankruptcy. He has like no money.
The actor filed for bankruptcy protection late last month, claiming roughly $67,000 in assets and debt totaling around $1.3 million. Yes, $1.3 million.
The actor spends a modest $11,600 in monthly expenses, which is good news at least. The bad news, unfortunately, is that he’s pulling in only $7,500.
As for the money he owes, think $1.2 million in back taxes (because why pay taxes on money you earn), $50,000 in legal bills and $4,500 in outstanding child support.
On the bright side, he owns a 12-year-old Segway (valued at $1,500!!!), a surprisingly large collection of firearms and a sweet leather bed. So there’s that.
