Let there be no more debate or denials:
George Clooney really is engaged to Amal Alamuddin.
This major news made the Internet rounds over the weekend, but now a very reliable source has come out and confirmed that Alamuddin really has managed to lock down the world’s most eligible bachelor.
Alamuddin’s law firm just released the following statement:
“The barristers and staff of Doughty Street Chambers offer their best wishes and congratulations to Ms. Amal Alamuddin, a member of Chambers, and Mr. George Clooney on their engagement to be married.”
Lawyer Geoffrey Robertson added that Alamuddin is a “brilliant and passionate defender of human rights” who is respected by her colleagues, while chief executive Robin Jackson told Reuters.
“She brings a bright light to everything she is involved in, and I am so delighted at her happy news.”
Clooney reportedly asked for Alamuddin’s hand in marriage at some point over the past two weeks. He was then spotted at dinner with Richard Gere, toasting to the engagement.
“It’s actually not that surprising. He likes a woman with brains and class,” an insider told Us Weekly. “She’s the full package…He’s happy and found his ideal match. He didn’t settle, so good for him.”
Alamuddin was born in Lebanon; graduated from New York University School of Law; and is an attorney who focuses on international law, human rights, extradition and criminal law.
That may not be what Stacy Keibler is thinking at the moment.
