By selecting Bruno Mars as this year’s Super Bowl halftime act, those behind the NFL’s biggest game pretty much guaranteed that we wouldn’t be adding to our collection of Crazy Celebrity Wardrobe Malfunctions.
But that’s okay.
There are few acts in the music business more universally appreciated than Mars, who combines pop with jazz, a smooth voice with show-stopping dance moves, and who was joined at MetLife Stadium today by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
How did the solo artist and the iconic rock band do as a team?
Pretty darn well, as the show opened with "Locked Out of Heaven” and "Runaway Baby" before the Peppers came in for "Give It Away" and Mars closed with a troop-inspired "Just the Way You Are."
