A camera set up in the wilderness of Eastern Russia has captured a golden eagle taking down a young deer.
Researchers Linda Kerley and her husband Misha Borisenko of the Zoological Society hadn’t planned on chronicling this kill, as they set up a tripod in the hopes of photographing endangered Siberian tigers.
But they ended up instead with the first-ever documented case of this kind of attack. Check out the images now:
