Two and a Half Men is losing its half man. But gaining a lesbian.
With Angus T. Jones only relegated to a few Season 11 episodes, E! News confirms that the CBS sitcom is adding a recurring character this fall.
Her name will be Jenny. She will be the 21-year old daughter of Charlie Harper - and she'll be a lesbian!
The role has not yet been cast (may we suggest Vanessa Hudgens?), but the announcement comes at a fortuitous time for CBS.
According to GLAAD, only 8 percent of the characters on regular CBS programming are gay or lesbian. That's the lowest figure on network television.
And we somehow doubt the latest Big Brother controversies regarding racist and homophobic contestants have helped much.
Then again... this is Two and a Half Men.
Will the casting of a lesbian character really help the show's image? Or will it just lead to Ashton Kutcher laughing like a little kid while making puns about his house's carpet being munched?
