A couple of celebrities are in the news today for making supposedly un-American remarks.
Last night on The Voice, Adam Levine was caught saying he hates this country.
And about 24 hours earlier, on Memorial Day, Lena Dunham Tweeted a happy holiday to followers, adding: “I’ve already peed in two different Starbucks bathrooms!”
The quip did not sit well with a couple of individuals on the Right.
“@lenadunham What a rude, classless ingrate you are,” wrote Fox News contribute Michelle Malin, while Jim Treacher of The Daily Caller added: “Don’t blame her. She literally doesn’t know any better. It’s not her fault.”
And Noel Sheppard asked this question on the conservative website NewsBusters: “What is it about liberal disdain for America’s most-revered national holidays?”
Dunham – who also faced criticism last year for a Muslim Hijab joke – later returned to Twitter and replied to her haters:
“Just an FYI to conservative dudes tweeting hate at me: ‘I hope you get breast cancer’ is way more offensive than anything I’ve ever written.”
It’s time to pick a side, THGers. Whose are you on in this feud?
