Disney will soon be releasing a new Star Wars movie every summer, because why the heck wouldn’t they?

The announcement came today at CinemaCon, and the new release schedule is set to begin in 2015.

With J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars Episode VII kicking off the new trilogy in 2015, we know we’ll be seeing at least two more main continuity movies after that.

But what we’ll also be seeing is a series of stand-alone films that focus on individual characters in the franchise. The first two to get their own films are Han Solo and Boba Fett.

So much like the Marvel Universe, Star Wars will likely fill the time between main films with solo films. That means that we may not see Episode VIII until 2017 or 2018.

Regardless, fans of the sci-fi juggernaut are sure to have plenty to get excited for in the coming years.
