As the adorable middle child Stephanie Tanner on Full House from 1987-1995, Jodie Sweetin was America’s sweetheart. Who knew that when the cameras stopped rolling, she and Mr. Bear were in the bathroom getting hopped up on meth.
Okay, maybe he wasn’t her enabler, but it wasn’t long before Jodie did become a full-fledged drug addict. Now, she’s ready to cash in on those wild times!
She’s putting pen to paper and detailing her sordid life full of drug use, overdoses, drunk driving and more in a new memoir, hilariously titled Unsweetined.
“I wanted to prove that I wasn’t the girl from Full House, that I could get more trashed than everyone else,” she writes. Hey, at least it’s probably honest.
Jodie Sweetin, who recently married and split with husband Cody Herpin, has only happy memories of her time on the Full House set. But after that?
“Being the real me wasn’t interesting enough,” she laments.
Stephanie and D.J. Tanner … er, Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron.
In fact, it was before she even set foot in high school that she was getting drunk. At co-star Candace Cameron’s wedding, she passed out in the restroom.
The year? 1994. She realized, “I was Jodie Sweetin and I was an alcoholic.”
From there, she graduated quickly to pot, cocaine, ecstacy and crystal meth.
Throughout short-lived love affairs and stints in rehab, she continued using.
Until quite recently, too. Jodie fell off the wagon last December and officially rock bottom when she drove drunk with infant daughter Zoie in the car!
Now that’s train wreck material! If nothing else, her impressive feats should blow Dustin Diamond’s book about Saved By the Bell out of the water.
