Rumors continue to emerge that former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton will be marrying longtime beau Marc Mezvinsky later this month on Martha’s Vineyard.

Like clockwork, the Clinton camp continues to deny all such rumors.

Chelsea Clinton, 29, and Marc Mezvinsky, 31, an investment banker, are said to be planning a wedding on the exclusive Massachusetts island. The summer home of longtime family friends Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen is a possible venue.

Clinton reps have denied the reports, noting that the couple are not even engaged. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton weighed in last month to Fox News:

“There is no truth to [the rumors]. I keep reading it, and we keep saying, ‘It’s not true, it’s not true.’ But for some reason it doesn’t go away.”

Former President Bill Clinton’s spokesman, Matt McKenna, said last week: “As we have said repeatedly, these rumors are completely false.”

And yet … the Washington Post reports:

  • Marc Mezvinsky was spotted shopping for rings.
  • Chelsea Clinton has been looking at invitations.
  • A prominent Washington couple let it slip that they’ve been invited to Chelsea’s wedding this month – then clammed up.

All this could add up to something … or nothing.

If Chelsea wanted to pull off a wedding without guests, vendors and friends being hounded by reporters, what would she say? Nobody say a word or else?

One other tidbit: President Barack Obama and his family are renting a place on the Vineyard just down the road from the Danson-Steenburgen place. That means no paparazzi helicopters hovering overhead. When? The last week of August.
