Roger Federer and his wife Mirka (Miroslava Vavrinec) are the proud parents of twin girls, the tennis legend announced early Friday morning on his official site.
Daughters Charlene Riva Federer and Myla Rose Federer arrived late Thursday evening in Switzerland, the 15-time Grand Slam singles champion said joyously.
“This is the greatest day of our lives,” the Swiss Roger Federer, 27, said in a statement. “Mirka, Myla and Charlene are all healthy and doing very well.”
Roger and Mirka Federer have welcomed a new doubles team!
The couple, who has been together nine years but just tied the knot in April, had announced the pregnancy in March, but never that they were expecting twins.
In fact, word was it was to be a boy, singular.
Earlier this month, Federer defeated Andy Roddick in an epic match to win Wimbledon, his 15th Grand Slam tennis title, surpassing Pete Sampras’ record 14.
Congratulations to the happy new parents!
