Might an American Idol catfight be brewing?

Paula Abdul appeared on Phoenix’s 104.7 KISS FM Johnjay & Rich radio show this morning and sounded less than thrilled about the addition of Kara DioGuardi to the reality competition’s judging table.

“I am concerned about the audience and acceptance,” Abdul said, adding the profound prediction that “time will tell. We’ll see.”

Kara DioGuardi can write songs. But can she judge those that sing them?

The quirky judge added that American Idol producers hired DioGuardi because they “wanted to try a change.”

“They always tried for a fourth judge because it followed the format of the original show, Pop Idol,” Abdul said. “We haven’t had much luck with that working, but we’re gonna give it another try.”

Sounds like Paula is concerned about another female stealing her completely insane thunder on the show.
