Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas: It's Over!
The reality show romance between Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas has come to an end.
The ballroom guru and the American Idol finalist - who started dating soon after the latter was shockingly eliminated from season 10 - "both decided with everything going on that they couldn't give each other what would be fair," says a source. "They mutually decided this."
Ballas is paired with Kristin Cavallari on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars and there's little doubt rumors will soon surface over whether or not she played a role in this split.
Toscano, meanwhile, will release her debut album this fall.

So You Think You Can Dance named its final four last night, and it was a tad ironic. How so?
Because Pia Toscano, a singer many believed should have advanced at least that far on season 10 of American Idol, took to the stage and belted out a version of "This Time." The track is the first off Pia's upcoming album, which is expected to hit stores some time this fall.

Pia Toscano Unveils Fist Single: Listen Now!
Pia Toscano is officially a recording artist.
Signed to a major label, the American Idol favorite released her first single on Ryan Seacrest's radio program today. Titled "This Time," the track is off Pia's upcoming debut album.
Toscano first sang the single in front of an audience at the American Idols Live! 2011 Tour in West Valley City, Utah last week. Give it a listen below, compare it to winner Scotty McCreery's first effort and sound off: What do you think?
Pia Toscano to Release Debut Single On...
An official member of Interscope Records, Pia Toscano will soon release her debut single.
Titled "This Time," the track will drop on on July 12, just in time for American Idol Live!, which kicks off a few days earlier and runs until September 10. Look for Pia to belt out this new track while joined on tour by Scotty McCreery and company.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family," Toscano said in a statement yesterday. "[Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman] Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on Idol and I'm looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. This is a dream come true."
Look for Pia's debut single to be an acoustic guitar-and beat-driven tune. It was written by Esther Dean, who also penned Rihanna's "Rude Boy" and "What's My Name."

Pia Toscano Signs Record Deal
It was expected for weeks, but is now official: Pia Toscano is a recording artist.
The beloved American Idol finalist has reportedly signed with Interscope Records, according to producer Antonina Armato. He told ABC News Radio this week:
"We just finished a song with her called ‘Counterfeit,’ which is phenomenal... and we did another song for her as well.”
Toscano, of course, was eliminated from Idol far sooner than many fans believed she should have been. But things have gone well for Pia since: she's planning an album for 2011 and she has found herself a handsome new boyfriend.

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina have both released their first singles, but many American Idol fans are actually more anxious to hear from another season 10 finalist.
When might Pia Toscano release her debut album?
The popular singer admits she got a "head start" on the CD because she was voted off the show weeks ago, but she still can't pinpoint a release date. She can share a few details, however.
"It's definitely going to be big ballads, but there's also going to be those fun up-tempo songs, those dancing songs," Pia tells People. "I feel like on the show people really only saw me in one way, and I want to show the world that I can do other things."

They'll definitely be together next week as the gone-too-soon American Idol outcast sings and the Dancing With the Stars pro dances on the results show!
Mark's upcoming performance set to the vocal accompaniment of his alleged new love was announced Tuesday, with Mark ever the gentleman in response.
Apart from saying calling Pia a "phenomenal vocalist," Ballas says he had little in the way of details for this rumored girlfriend's appearance next week.
He denies having anything to do with the planning, saying that he found out about it when the announcement was made on the DWTS results show.
Maybe so, but we doubt he's unhappy about it.
As for his partner in the professional sense, Mark and Chelsea Kane survived another week. He and the Disney star have looked strong thus far!
