Nicole Scherzinger is downright gorgeous.

But the singer didn't always believe that when she looked in the mirror, admitting in a new VH1 Behind the Music interview that she battled bulimia for many years.

“I just hated myself,” Scherzinger says in the special. “I really was so disgusted with myself and so embarrassed. I felt so alone. I was in a group, and I never felt so alone in my life.”

These days, the artist is anything but alone. Many stars, including Lady Gaga, have been calling attention to the plague of eating disorders across the country.

Nicole Scherzinger may not have gone over well as a judge on The X Factor in the United States, but this former Pussycat Doll is headed overseas.

To judge the same exact show!

Indeed, Scherzinger has officially signed on as a panelists for The X Factor UK, saying today in a statement:

“I’m so excited to join the UK X Factor family. It's where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle. I can’t wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists.”

The singer will be doling out advice from Kelly Rowland's former seat. Much to the satisfaction of Peter Fincham, Director of Television at IT, who responded to the news with:

“Nicole will bring her wealth of experience, both as a solo artist, and as a member of a group, to this year's judging panel. We're delighted that she'll be joining us for the forthcoming series.”

Simon Cowell was not kidding about major changes coming to The X Factor.

With Steve Jones officially out as host - the Brit Tweeted the news himself - new reports indicate that neither Paula Abdul nor Nicole Scherzinger will return for season two.

"At this point, the only ones staying are Simon and L.A. Reid," an insider tells E! News. "Simon wants to take the show in a different direction."

We can only hope that direction involves fewer contrived fights between judges and more of a focus on the singers themselves.

Looks like Kelly Clarkson has company.

Two weeks after the inaugural winner came out in support of Texas Congressman Ron Paul in the 2012 presidential race, the candidate nabbed another star endorsement:

Hopefully Nicole won't experience anything like the backlash against Kelly Clarkson for weighing in on a heated political campaign, but it's always a possibility.

Kelly was criticized by some of her fans, but also lauded for the move by many Paul supporters - a particularly vocal lot - so there was also an upside for her.

Ron Paul finished second in this week's New Hampshire Republican primary and a strong third in the previous week's Iowa caucus, both won by Mitt Romney.

Acknowledging a few mistakes made on the first season of The X Factor - too much judge bickering, overly involved production numbers - Simon Cowell told People Magazine this week he'll evaluate all aspect of the show for season two and that 2012 will be a "bloodbath."

We assume the producer was talking about the on-air competition, but might he also have been referring to backstage changes on the way?

With rumors that Steve Jones won't be asked back as host, Nicole Scherzinger recently laid the groundwork for her departure, as well.

She may not be the most beloved judge - especially after last week's Rachel Crow ousting - but  Nicole Scherzinger is no slouch behind the microphone... on stage, that is.

Last night, prior to Marcus Canty's getting eliminated, the former Pussycat Doll debuted her new single, "Pretty," which is off the album "Killer Love." Look for it in early 2012 and listen to Nicole's solo effort now:

For the record, Nicole Scherzinger did not send Rachel Crow home on Thursday night.

This X Factor judge instead chose to let America decide between the 13-year old and Marcus Canty, yet Scherzinger is the panelist facing the harshest fan rebuke after Crow's name was called for elimination.

"My heart comes from the right place, so I get really sensitive when people are negative," the former Pussycat Doll told reporters after the show. "Don't [critics] know I only want the best for every single person?"

Nicole added that she thought Canty would be selected by voters, though they never got a chance to hear Crow's incredible survival song.

"When I saw that look on her face, [I felt] that I had let her down, like I dropped her," Scherzinger, who shed tears for 30 minutes after the episode, said. "I could have been holding on and I dropped her. She is the sunshine of our show, so it's hard to see her cry."

Crow, however, has come out and said the public should not blame Nicole, while the young crooner's fortunes are already looking up: sources say Disney has requested a meeting with Rachel.

Drew Ryniewicz was eliminated from The X Factor on Thursday night, a result that left Simon Cowell clearly angry at his fellow panelists for voting off one of his charges.

But Simon's wrath is nothing compared to the words left for Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger by fans of Ryniewicz on Facebook.

Among the passionate, frightening, misguided messages posted by Drew supporters over the last few days:

  • "F**K you paula you dumb c**t you voted off the most talented person on your f**king show. i hope you die you DUMB B***H."
  • "I hope you die, you selfish----------"
  • "@NicoleScherzy @paulaabdul go die"

These folks would be well-served to heed the words of Drew herself in this interview: she made it all the way to the final seven. That's pretty darn impressive, and she has many bright years ahead of her. Chill, people.
