Matt Damon to President Obama: Grow a Pair!
Matt Damon is at it again. Rekindling one of our favorite on/off A-list celebrity feuds, the actor is calling out President Barack Obama for his lack of balls.
His words.
The We Bought a Zoo star discussed his views on Obama during an interview with Elle, lambasting the President's perceived leadership shortcomings.
"I've talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level. One of them said to me, ‘Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politician.'"
"You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better."
Ouch. But it continues ...
"If the Democrats think that they didn't have a mandate - people are literally without any focus or leadership, just wandering out into the streets to yell right now because they're pissed off," he says. "Just imagine if they had a leader."
Matt Damon in GQ: Handsome as Ever!
Is there anything Matt Damon can't do?
He's been a breakout young star, a bona fide action hero, an Oscar-winner, a leading man, an activist, a screenwriter, a sitcom revelation and even an Internet meme machine.
The star is also the topic of GQ's new cover story, meaning there's a terrific Matt Damon cover staring you in the face below. You're welcome, ladies ... and everyone really.
Damon, who stars with Scarlett Johansson in We Bought a Zoo, plays a widowed father of two who buys a ramshackle zoo in the Cameron Crowe-directed film.
In all, he was in five movies in 2011, and has appeared in more than 35 films since his breakout role as an emaciated addict in 1996's Courage Under Fire.
Off screen, he has thrown his full weight (and his money) behind a charity, Water (dot) org, that seeks to provide sources of clean water to the Third World.
He has spoken up about teachers, the middle class, and President Obama. Michael Moore even called on Damon to run for president. Not a bad resume, right?
Matt Damon Talks Contagion, Shaved Head
Matt Damon has a new movie out and a new look on his head.
The A-lister stars in Contagion, which opens on Friday and stars... pretty much every actor on the planet, from Gwyneth Paltrow to Kate Winslet to Marion Cotillard to Laurence Fishburne.
Our friends have posted a Contagion review and also chatted with the actor himself, who is teaming again with director Steven Soderbergh.
The film is based around a global outbreak and Damon said of first perusing the script: "It's just a terrific, riveting, really fast read and really exciting and really horrifying - but [it] managed to be kind of touching, too."

Celebrity Hair Affair: Matt Damon Goes Bare
Matt Damon is not going to run for President of the United States. The actor has made that much clear.
But the star might have a shot now at head of the Hair Club for Men, as he's rocking the sort of 'do that would make Dr. Evil proud.
Damon and his full head of locks will next be seen on the big screen in Contagion, but he's shaved his head for a future film role and showed it off this week while promoting the aforementioned flick. We gotta say... not bad! What do you think? Compare, contrast and vote below.
Matt Damon on Running For President: No Sir!
Sorry, Michael Moore. You tried your best.
The filmmaker recently praised actor Matt Damon for standing up for his political beliefs and called upon the star to launch a presidential campaign.
It's not gonna happen, unfortunately.
A photographer recently questioned Damon on whether he has any plans to enter the political world, prompting the actor to reply: "No sir!"
Damon said: "I think there are probably better choices out there."
The Oscar winner supported President Barack Obama in the 2008 elections, but recently admitted he has been disappointed by Obama.
Damon also attended a teachers' rally last month to support changes to standarized testing and tore into a critic of teacher tenure.
Political opinions aside, he will next star with Gwyneth Paltrow and Marion Cotillard in Contagion, which opens on September 9.

Matt Damon for President: Do You Like Those Apples?
Roseanne says she's in. Kelsey Grammer may someday run. But filmmaker Michael Moore has a different celebrity in mind for the highest office in the land: Matt Damon.
In a virtual town hall meeting this week, the outspoken Democrat said of the Oscar winner:
“I think that he has been very courageous in not caring about who he offends by saying the things that need to be said. And if you want to win, the Republicans have certainly shown the way - that when you run someone who is popular, you win. Sometimes even when you run an actor, you win."
Damon has shown no interest in actually running for office, but he doesn't hold back his views, that's for sure. He laid into Obama in March and lashed out at a reporter over the topic of teachers this month.
Would he have your Presidential vote?

Matt Damon Defends Teachers, Tenure, Lashes Out at Reporter
Matt Damon is a passionate actor, both on and off screen.
At the Save Our Schools march in DC last weekend, the Oscar nominee was asked if fear over losing his job inspired him to be better at that job - an indirect way of criticizing the tenure system - and replied: “You think job insecurity is what makes me work hard? It’s not an incentive, I want to be an actor.”

Matt Damon Lays Into President Obama on Economy, Unemployment
One of Barack Obama's most prominent supporters during the 2008 election, Matt Damon is now one of the President's most outspoken critics.
Days after the actor expressed disappointment in Obama to Piers Morgan, he gave an interview to Great Britian's The Independent in which he went into greater detail over what he considers missed opportunities on the commander-in-chief's part.
"I think he's rolled over to Wall Street completely," Damon said. "The economy has huge problems. We still have all these banks that are too big to fail. They're bigger and making more money than ever. Unemployment at 10 percent? It's terrible."
Matt Damon believes the Democrats "squandered" a chance to "stand up for things."
So, will Damon vote Republican in 2012? No, he joked: "I just got a 3 percent tax cut!"
But then he turned serious again, expounding on one of Obama's more controversial compromises with conservatives:
"Do you think I'm going to start a small business with that money? You're out of your mind if you think so. I'm going to put it in the bank. So is every other guy that makes the kind of money I make. I don't think that's what's best for the country. I think a stronger middle class makes for a stronger country."
Ouch. In better news for the President, many people still like his wife a lot.
Matt Damon: Disappointed in Barack Obama
With one word, Barack Obama lost the enthusiastic support of one of his most famous supporters last night.
Asked by Piers Morgan if he's happy with the way Obama has been running the country,"Matt Damon simply replied: "No." He then elaborated:
"I really think he misinterpreted his mandate. I no longer hope for audacity."
The Adjustment Bureau star cited education as one area in which he believes the President has failed.
"The idea that we're testing kids and we're tying teachers salaries to how kids are performing on tests, that kind of mechanized thinking has nothing to do with higher order. We're training them, not teaching them."
In 2008, Damon often appeared at fundraisers for the Democratic candidate and hit the campaign trail on Obama's behalf. Watch him criticize the Commander-in-Chief in the following video:
