Courteney Cox said in an interview yesterday that one of the reasons her marriage to David Arquette broke down was the actor's obsession with sex.

Hey, at least he was obsessed with having sex with her.

Cox told Howard Stern how Arquette got wood ALL the time, even in some really inopportune situations, such as when she was upset and needed consoling.

Really. Here's part of the interview where she said this:

Courteney Cox has handled her separation from David Arquette with impressive maturity, supporting the actor through tough times and admissions of sex with other women.

Which is why we were a bit surprised to hear Cox join Arquette for a raunchy, in-depth interview with Howard Stern Thursday afternoon. She was asked about her ex-husband's sexual appetite and said it actually contributed to their split.

"Whenever I would need consoling from David, he could not literally put his arm around me for one second without completely getting a boner," Cox said.

Arquette defended himself by saying on air: "I'm always ready for [Courteney]. I know I'm more in touch with what she needs now...She takes one sort of thing and she clumps it [and says] that's what happens all the time in our relationship. It's not really true."

Is there for a future for this couple? It does sound that way, as Cox insists she hasn't slept with anyone since they took a break and added:

"The truth of the matter is that we love each other so much. We have such affection for each other but we are very different."

Courteney Cox has not gotten the memo. She's a celebrity. She's supposed to split from her husband and then make headlines by bashing him in the press. Date someone else right away. Maybe make a sex tape.

Instead, Cox has said she has no plans for a social life and has continually defended her troubled ex, David Arquette.

She did so again this week during an interview with Extra.

After spending time with the recently-rehabbed actor in Malibu last week, Cox was asked about his recovery. Said the Cougar Town star:

"Oh my God, I'm so proud of him! Best he's ever looked! He's so cute that I'm like, dude, I don't understand. Really?! Why are you that cute right now?"

David Arquette was involved a head-on collision this afternoon. He was injured and hospitalized but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

He was in W. Hollywood when his car veered into oncoming traffic. David was behind a car that stopped suddenly, causing him to swerve to avoid it.

David then headed straight into oncoming traffic and slammed into a car going in the opposite direction. Paramedics quickly arrived on the scene.

The actor way to Burbank airport to board a private jet which was going to Las Vegas, for the grand opening of Sugar Factory, a candy store at the Paris Hotel.

He was supposed to attend a party hosted by Kim Kardashian.

That was not to be, as he was taken away by ambulance. A little bit later, officials said the drivers of both vehicles suffered minor to moderate injuries.

Good news, in many respects, considering how bad a head-on crash could've been for Arquette and the other driver. We wish him a fast, full recovery.

UPDATE: Arquette is okay! And pretty funny! He Tweeted the following last night:

Recently out of rehab, David Arquette sat down with Oprah Winfrey this week for an interview that will air today.

The recovering actor touched on a number of topics, including:

  • His first drink: "I must have been four-years-old. I was down in the basement with my dad and beer was there and I just grabbed it and drank it. And I remember that. It's one of my earliest memories."
  • Young problems: "I seriously started drinking probably when I was about 12. I stole pot from my father when I was eight years old."
  • Loved ones intervening: "I came back from Miami and I had taken a nap. I woke up and Patricia and Courteney were at my bed. Courteney had a cup of coffee. I was like, 'What are you two doing here together?' I already knew."

Sources add that David and Courteney remain "great friends and are getting along really well" in the wake of their separation and his treatment. That's very nice to hear.

Described by a friend as being in "great spirits," David Arquette has checked out of the rehab facility he entered nearly four weeks ago.

The decision to seek help stemmed from a run of unusual events, from calling in to Howard Stern (below)and revealing intimate details about his sex life; to partying in Miami with every blonde he could find.

Following a crazy New Year's Eve at the Roosevelt Hotel, Arquette finally sought help for "drinking and depression," a source said, as opposed to "hard drugs." Let's hope he's on the path to recovery.

It's not exactly a secret that David Arquette needs help. The actor himself blabbed about his downward spiral on a constant basis before finally checking into rehab this week.

But what, exactly, is he seeking treatment for? Where is he situated? Was there a final straw that caused Arquette to see the troubled light? We can now answer those questions.

Not So Happy

Where is he? At the Betty Ford Clinic in California.

What is he being treated for? Depression and alcohol abuse, a friend tells Radar Online.

What made him seek help? On December 7, Arquette surrounded himself with strippers, alcohol and wads of cash at Skins in Los Angeles. Sources describe the evening as "wild" and "kinky" and as a clear sign to David that he couldn't go on that way.

Ex-wife Courteney Cox is on record as admiring Arquette for admitting that he needs assistance. We also wish him the best.

The following news doesn't exactly come as a surprise: David Arquette has checked into a rehab facility.

The actor, who separated from Courteney Cox in October and proceeded to have a public meltdown that included a lot of drinking and phone calls to Howard Stern, is "dealing with a broken heart," a source says.

"He is in there for drinking and depression, not hard drugs. Rehab was inevitable," an insider tells People. "He can't handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out."

In one of his numerous calls to the aforementioned radio host, Arquette admitted to turning into "a maniac" when he drank.

It's unknown where he's receiving treatment or for how long, but Cox says "I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him."

David Arquette has found it. Or, to be more accurate, David Arquette claims he never lost it.

A day after appearing on Howard Stern's radio show and answering in the affirmative to whether or not he's suffering a nervous breakdown, the actor has Tweeted a clarification to the 12 people who care about his mental status.

"It is being reported that I'm having a Nervous Breakdown. I assure you am not. This stemmed from a joke I made."

D. Arquette

What about other admissions made by Arquette this week, that he's "been drinking a lot" and would like to father a child with Drew Barrymore? Courteney Cox's ex Tweets:

"I always speak my mind and I really don't care what people that don't know me may say. I'm a good person with a huge heart. I thank those that have been on my side during this rough time."

He should also be thanking Cox for kicking him out. When was the last time David Arquette made this much news?!?

Following multiple public confessions regarding his separation from Courteney Cox, his post-marriage sex with Jasmine Waltz and his weekends of drunken behavior, David Arquette has finally admitted:

I've got a problem.

The actor phoned Howard Stern's radio show yesterday and acknowledged that he's having a "nervous breakdown, adding: "I've been drinking a lot... it's really a personal, traumatic thing... when I drink, I become a maniac."

In October, Arquette told the world how Cox said she was sick of acting like his mother in their marriage. But "I kind of need a mother right now," he says.

"I need a girl to come bring me some soup and make sure I'm all right. I like that, and I take care of my ladies, too."
