One became a major music star singing country.

One became the star of a show called The City.

Both look gorgeous in the same black and white dress - but there can be only one winner in our latest celebrity fashion face-off! Who will it be?

Carrie Underwood went for a glam look at a pre-Grammy Awards party in a Pamella Roland dress, while Whitney Port showed off her seemingly endless legs in the same dotted minidress at a fashion event in New York this past week.

Whitney Port has learned a few things about being single.

"Just be open to all different possibilities and all different types," she said. "Try not to overanalyze things or put too much pressure on things."

"It's just fun to be single, to meet a lot of people, to date around, to figure out what you really want and are looking for, what works for you."

What does the adorable 24-year-old star of The City want, exactly?

"I'm not there yet! I’m still in [the] dating around phase!" Port says.

The MTV reality star split with her Australian musician boyfriend Jay Lyon on The Hills spinoff's season finale after less than a year together.

Whitney Port admits that the two are not on the best of terms.

"I'd never say we're, like, not friends, but, you know, the past is the past," she said. "In an ideal world, of course you want to stay friends with your exes. I mean, there was something there. There was a reason you liked each other."

"But you know, the world isn't always perfect," she astutely reflected. "And sometimes we have to let people go and move forward and sometimes you can't do that if you're still having a relationship - even if it's just as friends."

The City returns this fall. Reportedly with the addition of party girls Roxy and Samantha, who have been enlisted to spice up the boring show.

Whitney Port was spotted out in New York City yesterday grabbing Starbucks with two pals, one or both of whom may be new cast members on The City.

Roxy, pictured below on the right, is part of the Big Apple party girl duo, Roxy and Samantha, who were allegedly recruited to spice up the “boring” show.

“They are out of control,” a source told the New York Post of Samantha and Roxy.

“MTV brought in the party girls because the first season was so boring.”

Can Roxy and Samantha bring new excitement to The City?

According to sources, Whitney’s other co-star, socialite Olivia Palermo, just didn’t bring enough drama to the reality show, due to her new gig at Elle.

Having an actual job apparently requires her to behave, leaving little room for drunken screaming matches, panty flashing, stumbling out of clubs, etc.

The City stars, that is. Gorgeous leading lady Whitney Port was the epitome of urban chic in a silver Luca Luca gown with criss-cross detailing on the back.

She was pushing the fashion envelope with the short shorts she wore last week, but here, she returns to classic, upscale glory. But what about her co-star?

Whitney's "social" rival supported designer David Meister in a blush strapless dress from his line. Can Olivia Palermo keep up with her style counterpart?

Whitney Port was spotted out and about in New York this weekend, and The City star, who's usually known for more fashion hits than misses, raised some eyebrows with a unique ensemble - a pair of barely-there shorts and a skimpy top!

She showed off some skin, which is great for the guys, however, her outfit was more ... umm, yeah. Hard to say what she's going for. It's a bit confusing all around.

A trio of budding celebrity style icons - Whitney Port, Halle Berry and Miley Cyrus - all upped the fashion ante with loosely draped necklines on minidresses.

While Justin Gaston is sure to hold onto hot images like this during his time apart from the Hannah Montana star, can she compete with The City's leading lady and the Academy Award winner in this particular celebrity fashion clash?

Who wore it best: Whit, Halley or Miley?

While Manny Ramirez serves a 50-game suspension for violating baseball's drug policy, the Los Angeles Dodgers are still comfortably in first place by 8.5 games in the N.L. West. Nevertheless, they are now lacking a bit in luster and buzz.

Fortunately, this being Los Angeles, it's fairly easy for them to ramp up the star power factor at Dodger Stadium, albeit only for the ceremonial first pitch.

Matthew McConaughey, Whitney Port, Snoop Dogg, Kim Kardashian & Krew and plenty of others have taken the hill recently, with more surely to follow.

With the amount of famous faces taking the still to start their games these days, L.A. could fill an entire lineup with celebrities. That lineup could probably beat the San Francisco Giants, too. Bengie Molina hits cleanup for them!

Just kidding. But The City star did throw out the first pitch last night.

Whitney Port threw out the first pitch ... to her brother, Ryan!

Of the baseball experience, The Hills alum writes on her official site:

"What an exciting day!!! I just got home from the Dodgers game after throwing out the first pitch (to my brother Ryan, who took on the role of catcher).

We got there at 4:30 and we were escorted right out to the field. Some of the players even came up to me to welcome me... they were all so sweet.

It was so cool because I've been a Dodgers fan my whole life so it was really special to be there with my entire family. My little sister Jade, my brother Ryan, my mom, my dad and my grandfather all were there to support me.

All in all I'm pretty proud of myself... for someone who hasn't played in quite a few years I think I did pretty well ;)"

Whitney Port and Jay Lyon recently broke up, but are rumored to be back together (or at least spending time together) recently. But for those hoping to see Whitney reconcile with her ex on MTV's The City, don't bank on it.

The Aussie hasn't even signed up for the second season yet.

While Whitney's other friends, Olivia Palermo and Erin Lucas, are locked in for another round of semi-real drama in the Big Apple, Jay says he has yet to commit to the show - and therefore his chance to get back with Whitney Port.

"I’m still deciding," said Jay Lyon, who is also the singer for Tamarama. "I’m still talking with our managers and working out if it’s the right decision for [Tamarama] right now. That's the main priority at the moment and always will be."

Perhaps for good reason. The Australian band, which Jay formed with Nicolas "Pottsy" Potts, played at an event with White Tie Affair and Blue October this week, and have recently inked a deal to make an album with top producer David Kahne.

They're working on their debut album starting next week.

When Lauren Conrad hit the Paley Fest red carpet with cast mates Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt (sadly, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were no-shows), a wide range of Hills gossip followed.

Spencer's sister told the crowd that the couple, whose weekend wedding is being filmed as the show's season finale, were in the "studio, making hit music."

Stephanie also dished on being a Speidi bridesmaid:

"I've never been to a wedding before. I know that [Holly Montag] is in it. I'm hoping that she is Maid of Honor because I will screw everything up."

Of the gruesome twosome's pre-wedding festivities, Stephanie Pratt said, "I don't think Spencer is allowed to have a bachelor party. Holly and I are throwing around the idea of a bridal shower before. I just hope no one objects [at the wedding]."

The conversation soon turned to - you guessed it! - the Lauren Conrad sex tape rumors that infamously dominated a full season of the reality show.

When asked if she still believes that it was Spencer Pratt who spread the rumor that she and Jason Wahler made a sex tape, Lauren said, "We have it on tape that he [Spencer] takes responsibility for it. Sorry. Spoiler alert!"
