Because Kanye West’s ego is definitely in need of a boost right about now…

The rapper and his very famous wife have been named as two of the 100 Most Influential People in the world, according to the latest issue of Time Magazine.

Moreover, Kanye has nabbed one of the five covers dedicated to this special annual issue, joining Bradley Cooper, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Misty Copeland and Jorge Ramos as the select few to receive this extra special honor.

The yearly rundown celebrates "the titans, pioneers, artists, icons and leaders who are shaping the future," with other celebrities asked to pen a brief message about those selected.

Elon Musk volunteered to tell readers about Kanye.

"Kanye West would be the first person to tell you he belongs on this list," Musk wrote. "The dude doesn’t believe in false modesty, and he shouldn’t. Kanye’s belief in himself and his incredible tenacity – he performed his first single with his jaw wired shut – got him to where he is today."

We can only assume that Mrs. West is on the list due to the Kim Kardashian sex tape, which continues to influence Z-Listers around the globe on a constant basis.

They all believe they can be the next Kim Kardashian.
