"Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance,” Lorde said in a statement. “The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience."

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 will be released on November 21, bringing back Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Liam Hemsworth as Gale and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta.

It will also introduce Julianne Moore as President Coin.

“I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people," Lorde added.

The “Royals” crooner previously covered Tears for Fears’ classic single “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” for the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack in 2013.

She also told Twitter followers about this exciting piece of movie and music news, concluding:

"Building this thing piece by piece has been amazing. I can’t wait to share the other artists’ contributions with you."
