Grey's Anatomy Season 10 Episode 13 Recap: Who Did April Choose?!

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Grey's Anatomy Season 10 Episode 13 marked its 2014 premiere and answered perhaps the show's single biggest burning question: Who will April choose?

She ran out of the church, followed her heart and actually chose Jackson, a fact made even more shocking by the fact that the two weren't speaking at work.

The weren't just together, but married.

Meanwhile, in Derek's POTUS storyline, not much was uncovered in the White House investigation, except Derek sending $3,500 to a family for unknown reasons.

It was for an incident that happened when he was a child, we learned, but what we didn't learn was more about what his project entails with the Commander-in-Chief.

Moreover, how it'll impact Meredith.

The troubled Alex Karev, for his part, punched Ross hard, yet ultimately peace when saying goodbye to his father on Grey's Anatomy Season 10 Episode 13.

Jo was by Alex's side for it, too, although that moment outside the barn did not constitute a proposal in any way, shape or form. Case closed as we see it.

Gotta step up your game.

As for Callie and Arizona, now they're buying a new home, which is possibly the second worst strategy for saving a marriage behind having a baby ... but good luck!

Yes, Arizona explained it well, and perhaps they're stronger than we are led to believe just by this episode, but it seems like a patch, not a real path forward.

Ok, I'm not thrilled with the show either, and whizzing ahead 3 weeks, never showing us how everyone reconciled was straining credulity --with one exception. I loved being kept in the dark about Japril. And now we're moving past it even more with a legal drama about to break out with the way overdue sexual harassment complaints. It's been the show's bread and butter for years, from Der/Mer and Yang/Burke right up to Jackson/Stephanie and Arizona/Murphy http://tvruckus.com/2014/02/28...

worst.priemier.ever. However, after the plane crash was glossed over in the season opener, then Meridiths baby was apparently born no issues, why would I be surprised that we would be ripped off of the most anticipated drama of the year? Ticked days off on my calendar until Grey's came back so I could see what would happen at April's wedding only to find out nothing. nah, lets just forget this and go right to cat man, he's much more interesting... THUMBS DOWN!

I both agree and disagree with you. I would have loved to see what the scene inside the church had been like; how April answers Jackson and Matthew's reaction (and Steph, for that matter). It's a shame that the producers thought it unnecessary and for now, all we can assume is that April just ran out on her wedding without saying a word? Seems slightly unrealistic to me.
However, at the same time, I absolutely love that they had the 'cat man'. Not necessarily that story specifically, but the fact that it showed the doctors back at Grey-Sloan; it makes it more realistic for me, because it pays homage to the unfortunate reality that life does go on. The hospital isn't going to stop because Jackson and April eloped and ruined the lives of 2 arguably less significant characters. Having said that, it is also refreshing to see that the residents are also filing complaints to HR, as that ties in the personal connections prevalent in all the doctors' professional lives. Can't wait for the next episode to see character's reactions to the new rule!
