Jay Mohr Calls Alyssa Milano Fat, Actress Reacts on Twitter

Jay Mohr is under fire after making a recent crack at Alyssa Milano's expense, and while she took the high road in response, she was far from happy.

Mohr reportedly scrutinized the Mistresses star during a recent radio interview after the two attended the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards gala.

"She was one of the presenters," he said. "She's very tiny, in height."

"It seems like she had a baby and said, ‘I don't really give a s--t' ... I read it on her gut. Somebody sat in the director's chair and was not wearing Spanx and I was like, 'Jesus Christ.'"

In response, Milano sent the comedian a direct tweet on Christmas.

"@jaymohr37 So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me. Be well and God Bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife," she wrote.

"You're all lovely. Thank you for your kind words. #Appreciative"

Mohr has been married Nikki Cox since 2006; they have a son Meredith, 2. Milano and husband of three years Dave Bugliari welcomed son Milo in 2011.

After receiving plenty of backlash, Jay explained as such:

"@perezhilton @alyssa_milano She's stunning ... I mistakenly thought the absurdity of what I was saying would have been taken as a joke. #fail"

Definitely right on the money ... with the #fail aspect.

Even though quotes don't convey the right tone in print sometimes, how would a blatant, specific put-down of Alyssa's weight be construed as facetious?

His explanation is that he was just kidding, and Alyssa is so unspeakably gorgeous that implying anything but this fact would be an obvious joke.

You buying it? Discuss in the comments ...

UPDATE: Mohr has apologized for his remarks, saying he was trying to be funny.

this mohr character looks the way he does and comments about weight? she's beautiful you bozo, and i'm sure she doesn't need your worthless opinion to live her life. what a creep, i pity his wife

Let me enlighten you and your special friends to a world called "TWITTER LIFE." It's when you have no point in life, so you spend it looking on a social network, waiting impatiently for the next fued to go down. Pathetic, really, but some have made it to a site where they show others how fun it is, and then people join in. Not doing something for a very good cause, and you would say. Maybe I'm being bitchy, but you can't disagree Twitter is for tweets. And you know what that means. It's not literal, just in case you haven't noticed.

@ Lily

The word is 'feud'--but forget that. Anyone (Mohr) dumb enough to ridicule someone (Milano) IN WRITING on any venue is pathetic. And if you happen to be the person being criticized, it makes no difference if it's Twitter or Instagram or whatever.

Ms Milano has screwed so many dudes over the years..slut would'v been a proper gloss...

After listening to the actual audio of his comments, I don't buy for a second that he was trying to be absurd in a look-it's-funny-because-it's-so-obviously-untrue kind of way, like his "apology" suggests. Listen for yourself:

where can I sign for marrying this lady, folks?

AIDS is funny too nahahahahahaah

Jay who?

¿Preocuparse por los agujeros? ¿Tal ves tienes problemas de tamaño? Siento por ti. Ese comentario fue innecesario e indignos de una persona con carácter. Muy feo.

BTW Alyssa Milano, between that AWESOME video you did not that long ago, I still smile when I think of that, AND your beautiful, graceful response to Jay 'whatshisnamelol' I and I am sure a lot of people would like to see more of you, movies, TV....etc etc....you have spunk and character AND you're really, really funny.....
