Will NBC's game of musical talk show hosts soon stop on Seth Meyers?
As Jay Leno continues to crack wise over what appears to be his inevitable departure from The Tonight Show, and as Jimmy Fallon reportedly prepares to take over, The New York Post says NBC has found the latter's replacement at 12:35 a.m.:
“Lorne Michaels wants Seth to take over from Fallon," a source tells the newspaper. "It would be perfect for him."
The same insider claims "Tina Fey’s name [has] also come up," but she's too busy to make the move work.
NBC is allegedly trying to convince Leno to bow out gracefully so it can announce his retirement at this May's upfronts. But, based on his monologues over the past week, it's clear that plan isn't exactly working.
Assuming Fallon does move up an hour in 2014, though, would Meyers make a good choice to replace him?
