Carrie Fisher: Hospitalized After Bipolar-Related Cruise Ship Performance

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Following an unstable performance aboard a Caribbean cruise ship last week, Carrie Fisher has been hospitalized for what her rep explains are reasons related to the star's bipolar disorder.

The actress - who has been rumored to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII alongside Mark Hamill - appeared as a surprise guest on the Holland America Eurodam, but slurred words and forgotten lyrics led many to believe Fisher was drunk.

Watch a clip of the embarrassing incident now:

Denying talk of his client being wasted, Fisher's rep tells TMZ:

"There was a medical incident related to Carrie Fisher’s bipolar disorder. She went to the hospital briefly to adjust her medication and is feeling much better now."

The actress is a recovering drug addict and has been open in the past fo her bipolar disorder. We wish her all the best.

Such a brave person. I know from experience how brutal mental illness can be and how callous people can be about it. Shine on, Carrie. Your fans will always love you.
