Lark Voorhies is suffering from bipolar disorder, the mother of this former Saved by the Bell star says in a new interview.
Questions have abounded over Voorhies since a strange Yahoo! video of the star surfaced earlier this year.
In a series of interview with People, meanwhile, the magazine says she would often stop talking "mid-sentence" and mumble to herself.
In response to rumors over drug use, Voorhies's mother, Tricia, has come out and told People:
"There are things that have traumatized her," explaining that her daughter suffers from the aforementioned mental condition. "I care deeply about my daughter and I want her to resume her life."
Lark Voorhies will always be known as Lisa Turtle to fans of Saved By the Bell. She has also appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful and recorded some music. She resides with Tricia in Pasadena.
You can read more about Lark's struggles in the latest issue of People, but the actress denies anything is wrong.
"I have a strong spiritual sense," she says in the article, saying of the jumbled words caught on tape: "You caught me in moments of pray [sic]."
