Chuck Pagano is taking a temporary break from the sidelines.
The Indianapolis Colts Head Coach, new to the gig this year, has been diagnosed with promyelocytic leukemia and will likely miss the rest of the season to undergo chemotherapy.
"I feel with every fiber in my body, and I know Chuck feels the same way, that he can beat this thing," Colts owner Jim Irsay said of the diagnosis. "He's upbeat and he's ready for the fight. He's tough as nails. He's in great spirits."
According to Indiana University Health, most adults with this form of cancer do achieve remission.
In the interm, Offensive Coordinator Bruce Arians will take over as coach of the Colts.
We wish Pagano a full and speedy recovery.
