John Ingle died Sunday at the age of 84.
On Monday, the actor best known for his work on General Hospital was remembered as a "Father, Husband, Grandan, Great Grandan, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Teacher, Inspirer and Mentor" by his family in a touching Facebook post.
"May You Soar with the Angels. You will forever hold a special place in the deepest corners of our hearts," his family wrote, as tributes from his peers poured in.
Frank Valentini, executive producer of the daytime soap, took to Twitter to share thoughts on the passing of the star that brought Edward Quartermaine to life:
"With great sadness, I share the news of John Ingle's passing. We love him and will miss him. John will always be a part of the #GH family."
Ingle made his final appearance on the show just last week. John's wife, Grace-Lynne Martin, passed away in February 2012. They had five children together.
