Mark Wahlberg Apologizes For Inane 9-11 Remark

by at . Comments

Give Mark Wahlberg credit for a swift, simple and seemingly sincere apology after a boast that he would have fended off 9/11 hijackers and prevented a plane from crashing.

For reasons unknown, he said this to Men's Journal. The quote:

"If I was on the [hijacked] plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'Okay, we're going to land somewhere safely, don't worry.'"

Mark Wahlberg, Men's Journal

This came up because Mark was initially booked on one of the fights that was hijacked, only to change it serendipitously. He mused about what might've been.

It did not go over well.

Wahlberg's reps promptly issued a statement from the 40-year-old Contraband star admitting the foolishness of his statements and expressing remorse.

"To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with, and to suggest I would've done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible," Wahlberg wrote. "I deeply apologize to the families of the victims."

"My answer came off as insensitive, and that was certainly not my intention."

Oh please, he said What Other people say when they think back about something. It's called the "Well if it was me..." Saying. And we all say it, its because he's famous is why It's a big deal. So stop getting butt hurt over everything.

Seems Mr. Wahlberg temporarily blurred the line between REEL life and REAL life.

My family loves Mark's movies. He's a great actor and SEXY. Yes I do think so

I like the guy. He's honest and genuine, not afraid to speak his mind and quick to apologize when he's wrong.

I would want Mark Wahlberg on a flight with me just in case, just saying. Now, I'm sure he would have had more training to fight, but we really don't know how much fighting blood was shed on that plane in the air. But >> he apologized!! move on.

Listen to yourselves. Ranting on like undiscovered action heroes whilst admonishing the real life passengers, who lost their lives that day, for not being real men. Honestly, has the world really come to THIS? Are people real this rude, ignorant, jumped up and full of shite as the comments here suggest. This turns my stomach. You lot are absolutely pathetic. You really are.

The true is it shouldn't happen in the first place. And none us have any ideal went on. They were all in shock, how often does that happen. Norhing wrong speaking your mind, but life is not fair. I doubt anybody want to die. And they were not trying to be hero. They were just trying to live their lives.

This story is a farce from beginning to end. It presumes as factual the common storyline of 9/11. But, that story has never been validated. Furthermore, all aspects of the story rely on improbablities, including Deena Burnett-Bailey's cell phone contact. The military exercises simulating hijacking and crashes into buildings are a valid means by which and through which the deception of 9/11 could have been carried out. The facts concerning those exercises were withheld from the 9/11 Commission. The general in charge of them, Larry Arnold, lied to the commission and was not even aware of all aspects of the simulation. I wish Mark Wahlberg had stood up to Deena Burnett-Bailey. Instead he caved in. That is too bad.

You know what probably offends those who died in 9/11 more than someone claiming they would have fought for them....the people who get afraid of any mention of 9/11. I mean think about it, if you were dead would comments like the one marky mark made bother you? Or would it be the people so nervous about being politically correct they won't speak freely of your death....people are becoming more fearful everyday.
