Josie Duggar (Baby #19): Hospitalized Again!

by at .

As Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar plan to welcome their 20th child next year, their recent trip to Israel brought more medical duress for their 19th, Josie-Brooklyn.

Next week's season finale episode of the soon-to-be-renamed 19 Kids and Counting shows Josie rushed to the hospital during the family vacation, in dire straits.

She was “congested” says Jim Bob, as Josie cried in the hospital.

As the little girl struggles, the rest of the family must decide if they’re going to continue their trip around the country they traveled so far to visit as a group.

At the same time, there was no debate over whether having a 20th baby was a smart decision. She admits it's not for everyone, but Michelle never wavered.

The stress of their “littlest little,” who was born prematurely and has endured myriad health woes in the last year and a half, being sick hasn’t stopped the Arkansas family from expanding, as we know, given their impending arrival.

What do you think? Is 20 kids too much?

Hey Michelle, Your body is giving up. Only cause you can fall pregnant does not mean you need to try to get pregnant.

I love the Duggar Family. I a non practicing catholic but I have been inspired by the way Michelle and Jim Bob raise their children. Their children are testament to the type of people they are, selfless, hardworking, gentle, disciplined and considerate and non-judgemental, unlike some of the previous commentators. Their children are blessed to be born into a loving large family, something that many children in this world do not have the privilege of. Carry on the good work Michelle and Jim Bob. I especially admire Michelle, she has been so inspirational and watching her has definitely made me rethink my role as a mother.

Basically, it is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS! It is their life and if they want to have 30 kids, and can support them, then so be it! Leave them alone and let them live their life as they see fit!!

I don't agree with these people and think they are insane and selfish for what they are doing and I don't think this is of GOD and is turning into a cult-like thinking. When is enough enough. I don't think the other children are happy because they are caught into a mess that their parent's created. They cannot give them a good quality of life, which every child should be entitled to; and also to have a childhood free from growing up too fast and think they should do the same. I had four kids and it was hard on me; and now I am divorced and totally devasted. I had the last one in my forties and it was a risk pregnancy and then he was taken at birth, raised by another family and could care less about me, and this has left me with mental problems and totally tired out. It wasn't worth it for me and when I see this; this is totally insane.

To the person who wrote about how happy the Duggar children are, are you aware that the Duggars follow Bill Gothard's cult-like teachings? One of the bizarre things he says is that being "sweet" at all times and having "bright eyes" is evidence that you are living a "godly" life. Even if these children are unhappy, they are trained from a very young age, probably with corporal punishment, that expressing unhappiness is a sin. The Duggars also promote Michael and Debi Pearl's books, which also teach that anything less than a cheerful attitude is grounds for punishment.
