Michael Douglas: Smoking After Beating Throat Cancer?

Is throat-cancer survivor Michael Douglas smoking again, just months after enduring grueling treatment for the disease? Star and Radar say he is.

The photos appear in the new issue of the celebrity gossip tabloid and were allegedly taken July 21. He is shown on a yacht in Porto Venere, Italy.

The legendary actor is clearly smoking in the cover photo, and in more images inside the magazine. The question is when they were really taken.

Michael Douglas Cancer Shocker!

Michael Douglas went through chemotherapy and radiation last year, bravely beating cancer, making these new photos - if legit - even more stunning.

The oldest, easiest trick in the tabloid book is the file photo, though. Using an old or misleading image to make a cover stand out is par for the course.

We can't guarantee that's what's going on here, but we also wouldn't bet against that. It's worth noting that he was a heavy smoker prior to 2010.

There's also the possibility that he was smoking medicinal marijuana, but even that would still expose Douglas to potentially damaging side effects.

Douglas has yet to comment about the photos.

Hey, I saw a picture of his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, smoking while pregnant. And days after watching her fortysomething mother die of lung cancer, Demi Moore was photographed walking down the street smoking a cigarette. Addiction is a tough one.

Some one has said that Cancer is the Emperor of diseases and it is. All we know is that it is an abnormal cell growth which takes away the nutriments that feed healthy cells and feeds the malignant ones instead resulting in countless deaths. Statistically speaking, people who smoke are more likely to contact this malady but to my limitied knowledge the carcinogen that prompts this condition has yet to be scientifically ascertained in Tob. or any other substance.

Michael knows the risks involved and is addicted, Smoking is by far more difficult to kick than most other addictions. Leave the man alone.

Wow...You say that smoking had nothing to do with him getting cancer? This is the first time I have publicly called someone a name like this...You are retarded. Not the down syndrome type, but mentally retarded. Other than that, I'm speechless.

Smoking doesn't cause cancer and he is and will contract cancer again because he still has unresoved issues. I'm going to say his son's behavior because he may consider him self a failure as a parent or had bigger aspirations for his son. I'm describing stress and depression, the real cause of cancer and is really no big deal because it can be cured via self or therapy with a funny little medication we take for granted and it makes us happy. Peace out. Oh! I forgot something, in the end we all die from cancer because it is our alter-ego.Having said this,we can liver longer lives, provided we settle some issues we have been taught in "Western Cultures" Peace out.

You never "beat" cancer....once you've had it, it continues to be a part of your life.
