Yup, she really is on her way, folks.
As previously reported, Bristol Palin is joining the cast of Teen Mom OG, ostensibly as a replacement for Farrah Abraham, who was fired by MTV in February of 2018.
While fans of the series continue to digest this stunning piece of news, Bristol herself is here to confirm two things:
- She IS coming on board.
- She has a benevolent reason for doing so.
What could that be?
Scroll down to hear from Bristol Palin herself!
I’m In!

Bristol shared this photo of herself, her three kids and also some cameramen as proof that she’s on board. This was her confirmation picture, posted to Instagram.
And This Was Her Confirmation Message:

She wrote as a caption to this image: “I am excited to join MTV’s ‘Teen Mom OG.’ I look forward to sharing my experiences and hope that I can help others on their journey.”
Reaction Has Been Mixed

As you can see from this excerpt of Instagram comments, some viewers are excited about Bristol… others think she is too “privileged” to be part of the cast… and others think she lacks “morals and class.”
No Morals? No Class?

We aren’t the ones saying this, but critics have long criticized Palin for having three kids by two different men, the latter of whom, Dakota Meyer, she’s in the process of getting a divorce from.
Maybe, That Is

It appears as if Palin and Meyer have reconciled, at least based on social media posts and messages. The two got married in May 2016 and the marine DID filr for divorce back in February. We just can’t verify where that filing now stands.
Bristol HAS Been Here Before

Remember, Bristol appeared on “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” in 2010, a Lifetime series titled “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” for one season in 2012 and two separate seasons of “Dancing with the Stars,” even finishing third one time. She is no stranger to reality TV.
For the Record:

Bristol and her ex-fiance, Levi Johnston, welcomed her eldest son Tripp, now 9, when she was 17 years old. She confirmed her pregnancy during her mother’s run for the Vice Presidency. She is also mother of Sailor, 2, and Atlee, 14 months, with her estranged husband, Meyer.
What Has Been the Fallout?

Farrah Abraham initially shrugged her shoulders at the casting and said she was too busy dealing with her dog dying to really give it much thought.
However, This is Farrah Abraham

So, come on, she did have something a tiny bit juicy to offer the world. “I don’t care as there’s no replacement for me, as we all know,” she said to Us Weekly. That’s more like our girl!
Why Was Farrah Let Go?

Sigh… how much have you got? MTV cut ties with her in season 7 after she refused to stop working in the adult film industry. Abraham later filed a lawsuit, which was eventually settled, against Viacom.
How Do the Other Teen Moms Feel?

Kailyn Lowry is on Teen Mom 2, of course, not Teen Mom OG. But she chimed in as follows on Twitter: “Bristol palin & cheyenne & Cory for teen mom og? Our producers sure know what to do.”
Cheyenne and Cory? Huh?!?

Lowry is referring here to Cory Wharton and Cheyenne Floyd, two other new faces who you’ll be seeing on Teen Mom OG when Season 8 begins.
Cory is Already Stirring Things Up, Too

“OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW, you guys are boring they want ratings,” he Tweeted after the Palin news dropped, trash talking mainstays Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood and Catelynn Lowell.
And How Do Those Ladies Feel About Bristol?

Who the heck knows right now?!? According to Hollywood Life sources, “none of the cast were told about the addition of Bristol. Now that they have found out, along with the rest of the world, they are not allowed to discuss their opinions in public just yet. You will have to wait and watch on their show because they must save their reactions for the MTV cameras.”
Why Are Some Folks Shocked by This Addition?

Because, per Hollywood Life again, “Bristol comes from a staunch Republican family” and producer Morgan J. Freemanis an outspoken Liberal. We assume he likes money, though, so we’re not sure what the debate here would be for him.
Where Does Simon Saran Stand?

We know you’ve been wondering. “I think Morgan Freeman is a terrible business man,” he told Hollywood Life. “To fire the biggest joke on TV, (Farrah), isn’t a smartest business move on his part. I never heard of Bristol, but if she can argue with a wall and win, she may be what Teen Mom is looking for.”
Bristol Can Bring the Drama!

She has faced backlash in the past for being anti-gay multiple times… she supports Donald Trump… and she REALLY LOVES GUNS.
And Let’s Not Forget About Her Mother

The world now stops, wonders and waits: Will Sarah Palin actually appears on Teen Mom OG? Will the television world survive if she does?
When Does Teen Mom OG Premiere?

We don’t know yet and it’s killing us! Slowly and painfully! Please make the announcement, MTV, so we can start planning our viewing party!
