Tracy Morgan of 30 Rock fame has found himself in hot water over a controversial joke that he offered up during a pre-game chat with the hosts of Inside The NBA on TNT.
Kenny Smith got things going when he announced that the comedian was the only person who could settle an argument that he and Charles Barkley have struggled with “all the time” — who’d ya rather: Tina Fey or Sarah Palin?
They all laughed at the idea that “Morgan can’t get fired” over his response. Barkley baited the actor: “Sarah Palin’s good looking isn’t she?”
His response was a stunner. Morgan said: “Now let me tell you something about Sarah Palin man, she’s good <bleep> material. The glasses and all that? Great <bleep> material.”
The e-mails and phone called came pouring in and within minutes Turner network honcho Jeff Pomeroy had this on-air statement delivered: “It’s unfortunate Mr. Morgan showed a lack of judgment on our air with his inappropriate comments.”
