In her first television interview since splitting with her cheating husband, Sandra Bullock sat down with Matt Lauer on the Today Show to talk about her life in New Orleans and adopted son Louis Bardo Bullock.
The Academy Award winning actress, 46, referred to her seven-month-old son as “a little Cajun cookie.” She told Lauer that she started the adoption process four years ago and always had faith she would end up with the right child.
Sandra acknowledged: “Everything works out the way the universe wants it to work out. I didn’t think it would be a boy. We don’t have any boys in our family. So, he’s like the crown prince.”
The Blind Side actress attended a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday at a New Orleans health clinic she helped fund. The event marked the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
Sandy is also championing the rebuilding of a school system in the devastated region, lending her celebrity status and serving as a high profile cheerleader – see her high school yearbook cheerleader photo below.
Louis was born in New Orleans and Bullock bought a home there so the boy could be raised where he began his life. She admits she loves being tied to the Big Easy and quipped to Matt: “How lucky am I?”
