Comedian Roseanne Barr is missing a sensitivity chip. Coming across very clearly as an attack on Marie Osmond and her parenting skills following her son Michael Blosil’s suicide last week, Barr told the world on her blog that it was Marie’s fault and also bashed her Mormon faith.
Roseanne wrote, “Marie Osmond’s poor gay son killed himself. He had been told how wrong and how sick he was every day of his life by his church and the people in it. Calling that ‘depression’ is a lie!!”
Barr not only took it upon herself to tell the world that 18-year-old Blosil was gay but she also reported that one of Osmond’s daughters is a lesbian. She states that the reason behind her revealing this to the world is because she wants kids to know that it is okay to be gay, adding that she is “kicking bigot a** and taking names.”
Leaving her own message to Blosil, Barr wrote, “If I had been your mom, I would have told you that some of the greatest and smartest most artistic people who ever lived were gay. I would have shielded you from bigots who tore at your soul, like the ones unfortunately who were closest to you. To all the gay Mormon children out there in the world, I will be your mom! I love you!”
