What really happened …

We reported yesterday on the shocking behavior of Chris Brown that occurred moments after he finished an interview with Good Morning America host Robin Roberts. On Wednesday’s show, Roberts did a follow up report.

She said: “Anytime we have a guest here on the program, we let them know ahead of time the subject matter… the topics that we’re going to discuss, and even right before the interview, I said that to Chris.”

“I was shocked, like everybody else, because we’ve had a wonderful relationship. I’ve spent time with him… at his home. He was very gracious and we had a very easy conversation. You saw me laughing during the interview because… I thought he was joking.”

In an ‘all is forgiven’ gesture, GMA has invited Brown back with open arms. Roberts verified that fact: “I’m glad that we’ve extended an invitation, we’d love to have him back, and he’s seriously considering that.”

Prior to Roberts’ comments, a pre-taped video by GMA reporter Andrea Canning set up the segment. She reported that “he grew angry and stormed backstage with his team. At one point, a cooler was thrown, and this window was broken in his dressing room. At that point, he left the building with his shirt off.”

GMA has not filed a property damage report with police — a lucky break for Chris Brown, who is currently on probation for another act of rage against Rihanna that occurred two years ago.
