Paris Hilton and Benji Madden may have stumbled upon a match made in heaven – and we’re not talking love. Let’s face it – Paris was wearing thin for most of us prior to her decision to appear heterosexual. That may have all changed now that she has hooked up with the Good Charlotte guitarist.
Clearly overshadowed by brother Joel Madden, we can credit Benji with a few good sound bites when pseudo sis-in-law Nicole Richie gave birth to ‘baby of the century’ Harlow Winter Kate Madden. Other than that, he hasn’t been at the top of anyone’s Hollywood celebrity list.
Together, the new pair make interesting copy. While Paris is a long way from being legitimized by her new association, she seems to have lent some credence to the possibility that she may be looking outward instead of being focused solely on Numero Uno.
The new association has been good for Benji too. He is suddenly being sought after by of the hottest Las Vegas nightclubs who are clamoring to have him host their weekend party scene. Last weekend he was slated to appear at Prive’ Nightclub, Planet Hollywood casino’s newest venue. Rumors on the Strip were that Prive’ was really hoping that Paris Hilton would come along as a two for one.
Things went south when Prive’ found out that Hilton was already slated to do a gig down the street at Luxor’s LAX Nightclub. Benji read the fine print on his contract, which stipulated that he couldn’t mosey on down the street after his gig and join Paris at LAX. He backed out and left Prive’ holding the bag. Nightclub hosting has kept bread and butter on the table’s of Paris Hilton and Kevin Federline. No reason Benji can’t become a mainstay on that circuit too.
Surely Paris has visions of a fairytale relationship with new love Benji. She has watched the rapid rise in the star power of Nicole and Joel over the past year. It will be interesting to see if Paris is capable of pulling off a sustained relationship with Benji. They each bring something of value to the relationship right now. A real bonus would be if love actually did blossom out of their new alliance. Stranger things have happened but don’t hold your breath.
