Derek Jeter‘s girlfriend, Minka Kelly, is making headlines again, after the New York Yankees captain’s recent slump.
Before Jeter tied Lou Gehrig’s team record, the media began focusing on his relationship with Minka (sometimes mispelled Mika), insinuating the Friday Night Lights beauty may have been the reason for the slump.
Jeter and Kelly have managed to keep their relationship low profile since they began dating in 2008. Then an insider reportedly told Page Six that the couple were secretly engaged and planned a fall wedding after baseball season is over.
A rep for Kelly denied the report.
Minka is the only child of former Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay and the late Maureen Kelly, a former Las Vegas showgirl. She has been romantically linked in the past with actors Donald Faison and Chris Evans, and musician John Mayer.
