Miley Cyrus has been seen out and about in Los Angeles lately. We’ve shared photos of the teenager at the beach, at a theme park and enjoying a caramel latte from Starbucks. Her purpose for being in sunny California is to make a movie.
That didn’t stop her from hopping a jet to arrive in NYC to perform live on Good Morning America this morning. She’s also accepted a similar gig to perform live on the Plaza next Friday on NBC’s Today Show.
The busy 15 year old is clicking on all cylinders. Her major task continues to be doing Disney’s bidding by appearing in as many public venues as possible while keeping her image squeaky clean in the process. That might be why she’s buttoned up to the neck and has on a pair of fairly conservative shorts.
Hannah Montana: The Movie is in production and the teen phenom has been busy learning her lines and filming scenes. The family comedy has Miley Stewart’s life spinning out of control because of her Hannah Montana gig. At her father’s urging, they go back to their roots in Crowley Corners, Tennessee to get some perspective on what matters most.
Miley is currently filming with costars Moises Arias and Vanessa Williams. Other high profile cast members are said to include Rascal Flatts, Dolly Parton, Heather Locklear and a cameo appearance by Taylor Swift.
Miley has received some controversial publicity in 2008. Several rounds of controversial girlfriend sleepover photos hit the internet as well as wet t-shirt shower photos. The mega star also took a great deal of flack when her Vanity Fair photo shoot hit newsstands. Her bareback photos sent people screaming into the night. Collective rage was leveled against famed photographer Annie Leibovitz and Billy Ray Cyrus. Disney wasn’t happy and press statements were immediately issued by the network and the Cyrus family.
