‘Anger Management’ star Charlie Sheen has filed legal paperwork requesting that an L.A. court judge cancel his $55,000 a month support payment that currently goes to ex-wife Brooke Mueller.
Charlie cited the fact that Mueller has spent the last few months doing her 20th stint in rehab and has had no contact with her twin sons Bob and Max, who are living with another of his ex-wives, actress Denise Richards.
Sheen believes that Brooke is using the money to pay for her latest rehab stay, a situation he doesn’t feel obligated to fund – having already shelled out for numerous past “failed stints.”
Generous by nature, the former ‘Two and a Half Men’ celeb offered Denise extra child support while the boys remain with their half-siblings Sam and Lola Sheen. Richards flatly refused.
All efforts by Brooke’s camp to put the twins in the care of one of her family members, presumably to keep the monthly support coming in, have been spurned by the court.
Richards was on ‘Chelsea Lately’ Monday night and the talk-show host briefly mentioned the situation, giving Denise kudos for stepping up and calling her the coolest ex-wife anyone could ask for. The audience applause that followed was long and loud.
Mueller left Betty Ford Center in Palm Spring last month and is now at an Orange County facility that is reportedly better suited to her long term rehabilitation needs.
In this particular case … we have to side with Charlie. Your thoughts?
