Best Buy is set to air a new commercial during Super Bowl XLV on February 6, 2011. The futuristic-themed ad will feature Ozzy Osbourne and Justin Bieber.
A spokesman for the consumer electronics giant said in a statement: “We know people have high expectations for these ads and Justin and Ozzy add a whole new dimension of fun. We’re delighted to have Justin and Ozzy help us to tell the Best Buy story.”
Actually this is a rather big leap for the the major retail chain. They have never before plunked down the big bucks for a prime spot during the most watched event on the planet.
So what is the going rate for a thirty second spot during this year’s contest between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers? $2.8 million to $3 million …
