Gorgeous, radiant and stunning are a few words that certainly apply to Angela Bassett. The 52-year-old actress was honored at the 4th Annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon yesterday at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Named “Simply the Best” black actresses were Bassett, Jennifer Hudson, Viola Davis and Loretta Devine.
Angela has worked hard to guard her private life . She has been married to Courtney B. Vance since 1997. They have 5-year-old twins: a son Slater Josiah and a daughter Bronwyn Golden.
Angela will next hit the big screen on May 6, in Jumping the Broom; a comedy about two very different families who come together for a weekend wedding on Martha’s Vineyard.
Bassett will also co-star with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively in the summer release of the superhero flick Green Lantern.
