Veteran music producer Clive Davis, 81, hosted his annual Pre-Grammy Gala last night in Beverly Hills, drawing a crowd that Miley Cyrus classified as old.
The ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer entertained during the event with a set that included ‘Get It Right.’ When the upbeat tune failed to garner much audience appreciation, she mused, “I hope y’all feel better than y’all look.” Ouch!
She added, “Maybe this song is better for this crowd,” as she crooned ‘Jolene,’ a vintage Country hit made famous by her Godmother Dolly Parton.
As she suspected, the throwback song earned her an appreciative round of applause from the gala-goers.
Walking the red carpet at the high profile event along with Cyrus were Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia Barrino.
Kelly Osbourne and her parents Sharon and Ozzie also posed for photographers. The co-host of ‘The Talk’ was rocking a low cut black dress that showed off her cleavage, while her recently unengaged daughter, a correspondent for ‘E! Fashion Police,’ opted for a more demure neckline.
Davis ended the evening with a video montage featuring performances of the late Whitney Houston, who died the night before the 2012 Grammy Awards.
He told his guests, “We all know that Whitney was the greatest contemporary singer in the world. I don’t want the world to forget that, and I don’t want anyone in this room to forget that.
