The world has been craving some new music from Adele since the release of her much heralded album ’21’ in 2011. It appears the wait may soon be over.

Adele has begun working with fellow Brit singer-songwriter and former Genesis rocker Phil Collins. He told Inside South Florida, “I’ve just started to work with Adele. She contacted me to write together.”

The semi-retired musician admits that the Grammy Award winning singer wasn’t on his radar screen but he agreed to join her in the studio after hearing her voice.

Collins acknowledged, “I wasn’t actually too aware. I live in a cave! But she’s achieved an incredible amount. I really love her voice. I love some of that stuff she’s done, too.”

According to her publicist, Adele will release an album in mid-2014. She has reportedly been collaborating with Kid Harpoon, James Ford, Ryan Tedder and Diane Warren, in addition to Collins.

Adele and boyfriend Simon Konecki are parents to a son Angelo in October 2012. She is reportedly worth $55 million, making her one of the highest paid musicians in the world thanks to her hits ‘Rolling in the Deep’ and ‘Set Fire to the Rain.’
