Singer Ke$ha authorized a pal to release a number of messages Tuesday on Twitter to let her fans know how much she appreciates their support while continuing to receive treatment for an eating disorder at Timberline Knolls.
A trusted acquaintance of the singer posted on Ke$ha’s verified Twitter page: “This is Kesha’s friend. She asked me to tweet an update for her because she doesn’t have access to Twitter right now.”
“Ke$ha says, ‘THANK YOU. SOOO MUCH. I’m overwhelmed to tears by all of the love, letters, and support!! I’ll be back soon and better than ever.'”
“Ohhh and she can’t believe ‘Timber’ is still number one! ‘ YEAH animals! PARTY ON!!!!'”
The ‘Timber’ singer began treatment for anorexia and bulimia on Jan. 3. According to Pebe Sebert, Ke$ha’s mother, it was pressure from longtime producer Dr. Luke and former manager David Sonenberg to lose weight that caused her to spiral out of control.
A week after her daughter entered Timberline Knolls, Sebert checked in too. She is reportedly seeking help for post-traumatic stress disorder.
Ke$ha must be getting some creative time because ten hours after the initial tweets yesterday, her friend sent another message that was more than a little bizarre, “Hey guys this is K’s friend again. She’s doing well and needs more of your teeth to make art with at the treatment center. She misses you :)”
