Country crooner Keith Urban teased fans on Monday by sharing an Instagram photo featuring a barber chair surrounded by clumps of hair. It was a prelude to a far more shocking image on Tuesday, November 26.
He captioned the first photo, “Snow ain’t the only thing falling in Nashville today!! -KU”
Today he debuted the new cut that shows off his ears and the nape of his neck for the first time in years. Perhaps he wasn’t sure what to say about the shaved style so he let the picture do the talking.
Thankfully the ‘We Were Us’ artist has kept his light stubble of facial hair. Fans can gain some comfort from that decision while trying to understand why Urban opted to get rid of his signature hairstyle.
He has signed on for season thirteen of ‘American Idol,’ joining returning judge Jennifer Lopez and newbie Harry Connick, Jr. when the show premiere’s on January 15, 2014.
Urban married Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman in 2006 and four months later entered the Betty Ford Clinic in California for treatment of alcohol abuse. He credits his wife for helping him to “build a rock-solid marriage.”
Their daughters are Sunday Rose, 5, and nearly 3-year-old Faith Margaret. The family maintain homes in Nashville, Los Angeles and Australia.
