NFL quarterback Tim Tebow has signed on with the New England Patriots six weeks after getting the boot from the New York Jets.

Coach Bill Belichick and the Pats are holding a mandatory minicamp Tuesday and Tebow will be there to work out with the rest of the squad.

The move will reunite Tebow with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was the Broncos head coach when the team drafted the Heisman Trophy winner back in 2010.

He landed with the Jets in March 2012 and was dumped after the April 2013 draft when they determined they had no role for him in their organization.

With three-time Super Bowl winning QB Tom Brady at the helm, it will take some creativity on Belichick’s part to find an appropriate role for the 25-year-old who showed so much promise at the University of Florida.

The Jets are headed to Foxborough for a Thursday night game during Week 2 of the regular season. There is speculation that Belichick will use Tebow, in some capacity, just to get at Rex Ryan.
