Hulk Hogan has settled the civil lawsuit that he filed against Bubba the Love Sponge, aka Todd Alan Clem, over the distribution of a sex tape involving the former wrestler and Bubba’s ex-wife Heather Clem.

The terms of the settlement remain sealed but Bubba did issue this public apology to Hogan:

“I am now convinced that Hulk Hogan was unaware of the presence of the recording device in my bedroom. I am convinced he had no knowledge that he was being taped…It is my belief that Hulk is not involved, and has not ever been involved, in trying to release the video, or exploit it, or otherwise gain from the video’s release in any way.”

Hulk Hogan’s attorney David R. Houston said on behalf of his client after the apology, “Mr. Bollea is pleased that Mr. Clem finally stated the truth and apologized for his false statements.”

Hogan is still going forward with a $100 million civil lawsuit against Gawker Media, the website that posted short excerpts of the tape.

Last week in court Hogan was denied a temporary restraining order against Gawker, which would have required them to take down the controversial 1 minute and 40 second video clip. An injunction hearing is slated for Nov. 8.

Oddly, pal Bubba reportedly gave his blessing to Hulk, who was married to Linda at the time, to sleep with his then wife Heather.
