Barbara Walters gave a personal shout out and some candid advice to her dear friend Donald Trump from her panelist perch on ‘The View’ Thursday.
On the morning after Trump offered Barack Obama $5 million for the charity of his choosing in exchange for the release of his college transcripts and passport records, Walters had a tough love message for her pal.
“Donald, you and I have known each other for many years and you know that I am your friend and I think you are a brilliant businessman and you are great on television and you have a fascinating personality.”
“Donald, You’re making a fool of yourself. You’re not hurting Obama, you’re hurting Donald and that hurts me because you’re a decent man. Stop it. Get off it, Donald.”
He hit Twitter with this response, “Barbara, unfortunately you’ve missed the entire point of my announcement–you just don’t get it!”
Obama put an interesting spin on The Donald’s offer while chatting with Jay Leno Wednesday night during a guest appearance on the Tonight Show.
